Features of the INC Florestal MG/ 2025

The program covered everything from the fundamentals of fire prevention to rapid response strategies.

INC Florestal sought to promote the integration of knowledge among firefighters from different regions of the state, strengthening the uniformity of procedures and operational cohesion of the troops specialized in environmental emergencies.

In addition to instructors from the National Public Security Force, the training included significant contributions from military personnel from the CBMMG (Military Command and Control Center).

Captain Warley de Paula Vieira Barbosa served as assistant coordinator and delivered a lecture on Forest Firefighting Operations Planning at the CBMMG.

Along with Sergeant Danilo José Barbosa, he also provided instruction on General Principles of Survival in Hostile and Isolated Environments.

Forest Firefighting Drill

The Forest Firefighting Drill, held on the 13 and 14 July, was led by Sergeant Aloísio Henrique Souza and Sergeant Idarly de Souza Fortes.

The activity tested the practical application of the course content. The soldiers marched 12 km from the Military Fire Academy (ABM/MG) to Serra Verde State Park (PESV), where they spent the night in a camp set up in the field.

Dawn broke at 4:30 a.m., followed by a boarding and disembarking operation with support from the BOA (Air Operations Battalion), simulating an evacuation of a difficult-to-access area.

The activity then involved a practical prescribed burn, a technique used to prevent uncontrolled wildfires, reinforcing the importance of conscious fire management in vegetated areas.

Closing ceremony

The closing ceremony of INC Florestal MG/2025 took place in the main auditorium of the ABM (Brazilian Agricultural Academy).

Lieutenant Colonel Neves, the training coordinator, paid tribute to the instructors and highlighted the students’ dedication throughout the week.

Corporal Gustavo Brant de Carvalho was honored as the outstanding student of the event, receiving the Course Completion Certificate along with his fellow students.
