Haix has announced the release of its new FIRE EAGLE 2.0 EXG fire boot, described by the company as the first fire boot to incorporate Gore-Tex Crosstech Extraguard material.
According to Haix, the boot includes a three-layer upper that is lighter than leather, dries faster after exposure to water, and resists absorption of fluids, including chemicals, blood and viruses.
The manufacturer explained that this construction is designed to protect firefighters in prolonged wet conditions such as flood response or fire suppression in adverse weather.
Haix stated that the Gore-Tex Crosstech lining used in the FIRE EAGLE 2.0 EXG is waterproof, breathable and resistant to bacteria and viruses.
The company added that this interior lining works with the Extraguard uppers to keep the boots dry and maintain thermal protection throughout long deployments.
The model is compliant with DIN EN15090:2012 and meets the F2A standard, Haix confirmed.
The FIRE EAGLE 2.0 EXG includes a fiber-reinforced plastic toe cap, a heat-resistant and anti-slip sole, and an instep guard to protect against impact and lace damage, Haix explained.
It noted that the boot is designed for ease of cleaning under running water and does not require leather-care products, which may simplify maintenance routines.
A built-in pocket allows space for an RFID chip to support personal protective equipment tracking.
Haix UK Sales Manager Simon Ash said: “We’re proud to introduce the world’s first fire boot made with the groundbreaking Extraguard material.
