Guardian Fire Services has completed its acquisition of Houston Fire & Security, marking the company’s expansion into Texas and adding commercial fire protection and security capabilities in the Houston market.
The Nashville-based fire and life safety services provider said the deal strengthens its national platform and broadens its service offering through Houston Fire & Security’s fire alarm, sprinkler, fire extinguisher and kitchen hood services.
Founded in 2000, Houston Fire & Security serves commercial customers in Houston and the surrounding area. Guardian said the business has built its reputation on reliability, local expertise and life safety service delivery.
Ray Misfeldt, CEO of Guardian Fire Services, said the acquisition reflects the company’s strategy of partnering with local businesses that share its focus on quality, safety and service.
“The acquisitions of Houston Fire & Security and Midwest Protection Services expand our presence in two important markets and strengthen our ability to deliver world-class fire and life safety solutions,” Misfeldt said. “By combining trusted local relationships with Guardian’s investment in people, technology, and operational excellence, we are building a national platform that sets a new standard for our industry.”
The Houston Fire & Security deal is Guardian’s third add-on investment since Investcorp’s North America Private Equity acquisition of the business in December 2025.
Vincent Bonoan, founder of Houston Fire & Security, said choosing the right partner after 26 years of building the company was “deeply important.” He added that Guardian stood out for its leadership, integrity and respect for employees.
The acquisition follows Guardian’s July purchase of Midwest Protection Services, an Omaha, Nebraska-based provider of fire and life safety services for commercial customers. That deal expanded Guardian’s footprint in the Midwest and increased its coverage across the greater Omaha region.
