The Fire Department of São Gonçalo do Amarante, part of the 4th Company of the 2nd Military Fire Brigade Battalion, participated in the 14th Edition of the Synergy Project organized by the Association of Companies of the Industrial Complex of the Port of Pecém (AECIPP).
The event, held on November 7, 2023, in the Integrated Security Area 23 (AIS 23), witnessed significant discussions on sustainable business practices.
The project saw the participation of over 100 people, including members and authorities.
Highlighting the event were the talks by Neuri Freitas, President of the Ceará Water and Sewage Company (CAGECE), and Jurandir Picanço, Energy Advisor to the Federation of Industries of the State of Ceará (FIEC).
A major highlight was the launch of the ‘Ótimo – Panorama Pecém’ magazine, a collaborative effort between the Optimist Group and AECIPP.
Picanço emphasized the role of green hydrogen (H2V) in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, noting the Northeast’s potential in this market.
Lieutenant Colonel Girão, commander of the Pecém Fire Department unit, reflected on the significance of the Synergy event.
He stated, “Synergy is a moment for companies to discuss and envision future sustainable businesses in the CIPP, fostering community development.
It’s an excellent opportunity to spread awareness about public safety and strengthen the Corporation’s actions in the face of new challenges in risk prevention and management against incidents, which are expected to grow with the region’s major investments.”
The Fire Department’s participation in the 14th Edition of the Synergy Project underlines the critical role of emergency services in fostering community resilience and safety in evolving industrial landscapes.
The event’s focus on sustainable development, particularly in the context of green hydrogen, reflects a growing awareness of the need for environmentally conscious practices in industry.
The involvement of firefighters in such discussions is essential, as it brings a unique perspective on safety and risk management, crucial for sustainable industrial growth.
The initiative also highlights the importance of collaboration between various stakeholders, including government bodies, industrial entities, and emergency services, in achieving collective goals of safety, sustainability, and community development.
