Fire Shield Fire Protection, a provider of fire safety services across North Texas, celebrated the opening of its new location in Lake Dallas on January 15 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Hosted by the Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce, the event brought together community leaders, local business owners and Fire Shield team members to commemorate this milestone.
The event coincided with Fire Shield’s 40th anniversary, marking four decades of providing fire safety solutions across North Texas. Attendees, including retired founder Nelson Ligon, toured the facility and learned about the company’s expansion plans for 2025, which include adding fire sprinkler and fire alarm services to its offerings.
The ceremony also marked the beginning of a special year for Fire Shield, as 2025 celebrates the company’s 40th anniversary.
Nelson Ligon, the retired founder of Fire Shield Fire Protection, attended the ceremony and shared his excitement about the company’s success and legacy. He said: “I’m incredibly proud to see how far Fire Shield has come since I started it.
“Watching the company grow and expand its reach while continuing to uphold the values of safety, professionalism, and community care fills me with pride. I’m excited for what the future holds for Fire Shield and its impact on communities like Lake Dallas.”
Robert Furber, CEO of Fire Shield Fire Protection, reflected on the milestone year and the company’s ongoing growth: “This is an exciting time for Fire Shield.

In addition to expanding its presence in Lake Dallas, Fire Shield plans to broaden its service offerings in 2025 to encompass all aspects of fire safety.
This includes new services for fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems, furthering the company’s mission to provide comprehensive fire protection solutions to businesses and residents.
The new Lake Dallas location enables Fire Shield Fire Protection to better serve customers in the area with services such as fire extinguishers, kitchen suppression systems, and backflow testing, ensuring safety and compliance for businesses and residents alike.
