The NFPA is extending its sponsorship of NASCAR driver Joey Gase for the upcoming Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway on August 24. Gase will drive the No.
44 car featuring Sparky the Fire Dog, the NFPA’s mascot, as part of efforts to promote Fire Prevention Week, which takes place from October 6-12.
The campaign highlights the importance of working smoke alarms, urging households to ensure that their alarms are properly installed and maintained.
NFPA previously sponsored Gase in a NASCAR race in Iowa this June and will continue to support him in future Xfinity Series races across New York, Alabama, and North Carolina.
Lorraine Carli, NFPA’s vice president of Outreach and Advocacy, emphasized the partnership’s mission to spread fire safety awareness to NASCAR’s large fanbase: “We are thrilled to continue working with Joey Gase and his team to drive home the importance of fire safety.”
Fire Prevention Week, observed annually in October, is a major focus of the NFPA’s collaboration with Joey Gase.
This year’s theme, “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you,” draws attention to the importance of smoke alarm maintenance.
Through this partnership, the NFPA aims to educate NASCAR fans about the proper installation, testing, and upkeep of smoke alarms, which are key to preventing house fires.
Gase’s No. 44 car will prominently display Sparky the Fire Dog and information about Fire Prevention Week.
The sponsorship allows NFPA to reach a broad audience with its safety message during one of NASCAR’s most-watched events.
Carli explained: “This race gives us a unique opportunity to reach a large and diverse audience with these basic but critical fire safety messages.”
Joey Gase is known for using his racing platform to support various causes, and fire safety is one of his priorities.
He has worked with the NFPA to amplify the messages of Fire Prevention Week, helping to raise awareness about the risks of house fires and how smoke alarms can save lives.
Gase expressed his commitment to the cause: “I’m honored to help raise awareness about this public safety issue.”
With a fanbase as wide as NASCAR’s, Gase believes that the collaboration can have a meaningful impact.
He emphasized the importance of reaching out to viewers: “Fire continues to be a real risk for all of us, particularly in our homes, and I’m excited to continue sharing NFPA’s potentially life-saving messages with everyone.”
Beyond the upcoming Daytona race, the NFPA will continue to sponsor Joey Gase in multiple NASCAR Xfinity Series events.
The next races will take place at Watkins Glen, New York, Talladega, Alabama, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Each event provides a platform for spreading the word about fire prevention, with Gase and his team promoting the same safety messages.
Gase’s racing car will continue to carry NFPA branding, including Sparky the Fire Dog, in these high-profile races.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has announced that it will continue its sponsorship of NASCAR driver Joey Gase for the upcoming Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway on August 24, 2024.
The collaboration is part of a larger effort to promote Fire Prevention Week, scheduled for October 6-12, which focuses on the importance of working smoke alarms.
Gase’s car will feature NFPA branding, including Sparky the Fire Dog, as part of the campaign.
NFPA aims to spread fire safety awareness to a large audience through Gase’s participation in upcoming NASCAR races, including events in New York, Alabama, and North Carolina.
