The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the release of the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Fiscal Year 2024 Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Grant Program.
As of April 25, 2024, the program is set to allocate over $103 million to support state, local, and tribal governments in enhancing their emergency operations centers.
This funding aims to equip, upgrade, or construct facilities critical for disaster preparedness and response.
Pamela Williams, the Assistant Administrator of the Grants Program Directorate, emphasized the significance of these centers in national preparedness efforts.
“Emergency operations centers are the heart of disaster preparedness and response, and support communities across the nation during their greatest time of need,” Williams said.
“Our emergency operations center grants are providing more than $103 million for these critical coordination hubs, helping communities nationwide be more resilient when facing all types of hazards.”
The EOC Grant Program seeks to improve emergency management and preparedness capabilities through the development of flexible, sustainable, secure, and fully interoperable emergency operations centers.
These facilities play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of operations and government in the event of major disasters or emergencies caused by any hazard.
Eligibility for the EOC Grant Program is limited to State Administrative Agencies applying on behalf of state and local units of government and Federally Recognized Tribes with projects listed in Appendix A of the funding notice.
Congress directs the allocation of these funds, specifying the projects that will receive financial support.
The application period is open until 5 p.m. ET on June 7, 2024.
Interested parties must submit their applications via the FEMA Grants Outcomes (GO) system.
