The Fire Department of New York (FDNY) has unveiled its latest “We Are FDNY” poster campaign, shining a spotlight on the diverse backgrounds, experiences and roles that power the New York City Fire Department.
Revealed during the special We Are FDNY Breakfast event Thursday 12 February 2026, inside the Commissioner Robert O. Lowery Auditorium at Department headquarters in Brooklyn, this year’s poster features 24 members from across the FDNY’s bureaus and units.
Representing firefighters, EMS members, dispatchers, inspectors, analysts and civilians who keep New York City safe every day.
FDNY Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore commented: “In the FDNY, we come from different neighborhoods, cultures, backgrounds, faiths and lived experiences.
“We speak different languages. We have different paths into this Department.
“But we share one mission: to protect the lives and property of the people of New York City.
“When you look at this poster, you see strength, professionalism, pride and commitment. And you see a department that looks more like the city it serves.”
Chief of Department John Esposito said: “At the FDNY, we talk a lot about family—and our FDNY family is 17,000 members strong.
“The ‘We Are FDNY’ poster offers a small glimpse into that family, from those on the front lines to the many members working tirelessly behind the scenes.”
Barbara Dannenberg, Deputy Commissioner of Human Capital, added: “The ‘We Are FDNY‘ campaign is about something very simple, but very powerful. It’s about who we are at the FDNY.
“It reflects all the people behind the badges, the uniforms and the titles- our backgrounds, our experiences and our shared dedication to the Department and our city.”
Since its launch in 2008, the “We Are FDNY” campaign has featured more than 80 members, telling the personal stories of those who make up the Department’s workforce.
The poster will be displayed in all Department locations, including firehouses, EMS stations, training academies and civilian offices across all five boroughs.
