FDNY promote EMS members at ceremony

The Fire Department of New York (FDNY) promoted EMS members to officer and paramedic ranks at a ceremony on Monday, June 30, 2025, at St. John’s University in Queens.

First Deputy Commissioner, FDNY, Mark Guerra’s statement

First Deputy Commissioner Mark Guerra said: “Today is a great day. It’s one filled with pride and honor.

“We are here to celebrate your promotions and to recognize your dedication, courage and your unwavering commitment to service.”

Chief, EMS Operations, Michael Fields’ statement

Chief of EMS Operations Michael Fields said: “Working in FDNY EMS is never just a job. It’s a calling—a constant whirlwind of challenges and triumphs.

“Every day, our crews face the unexpected—performing under pressure, making split-second decisions that save lives.

“We know, without a shadow of a doubt, that we have the finest paramedics and the most dedicated leadership in the entire country.”

The newly promoted members will be assigned to units throughout New York City.
