As reported by NFPA, the Southwest Ohio Electrical Organization has become the latest Electrical Inspection Section (EIS) Affiliate Chapter of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
This new affiliation aims to enhance electrical safety across Southwest Ohio by providing critical training, education, and networking opportunities for the state’s electrical inspection community.
Tim McClintock, NFPA regional electrical specialist, expressed his enthusiasm about the new partnership.
McClintock stated: “Through this relationship, NFPA and the Southwest Ohio electrical enforcement community can unite efforts, using our collective voice to help address today’s current and emerging electrical challenges to advance safety in the community.
“We look forward to adding many other chapters in the future.”
McClintock highlighted the importance of robust electrical inspection programs in maintaining safety and compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other regulations.
He noted: “A strong electrical inspection program plays a vital role in safety and compliance with NFPA 70, National Electrical Code and other codes, helping safeguard people and property from electrical-related hazards.”
The Southwest Ohio Electrical Organization will support electrical inspection professionals, ensuring they understand the NEC and its applications.
This initiative aims to meet the unique needs of these professionals while preserving their independent voices.
The Southwest Ohio Electrical Organization is the second in the U.S. to become an NFPA EIS Affiliate Chapter, joining the North Carolina Electrical Inspector Association (NCEIA).
These chapters are designed to build communities where professionals can foster relationships, share ideas, and address the evolving electrical industry landscape.
Dewayne Jenkins, president of the Southwest Ohio Electrical Organization, emphasized the critical role of electrical inspection in community safety.
Jenkins stated: “The Southwest Ohio electrical inspection community is pleased to be working closely with NFPA to meet today’s electrical safety challenges head on, help expand our impact, and position the chapter for the future.”
