The Colombian National Fire Department (DNBC) has received special recognition during a ceremony commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Colombian Red Cross.
The National Director of the Colombian Fire Department, Captain-in-Chief Lina María Marín Rodríguez, received the award for her support of humanitarian work as a member of the National Disaster Risk Management System, which she dedicated to all fire departments and units in the country.
Captain Marín Rodríguez shared: “It is gratifying for the Colombian Firefighters to receive recognition from one of the most beloved institutions among Colombians.”
The commemorative event was presided over by the National President of the Colombian Red Cross, Judith Carvajal de Álvarez, who, during her inaugural address, recalled the most significant moments and achievements during more than a century of existence and service to Colombia.
The event was held under the slogan “a humanitarian legacy that transforms lives.”
The Colombian Red Cross thanked the DNBC and cooperation in the joint work to protect life, alleviate human suffering and strengthen the resilience of communities in Colombia.
Finally, the Special Administrative Unit, attached to the Ministry of the Interior shared that it will be renewing its commitment to continue strengthening inter-institutional relations between the Colombian Fire Department and the Colombian Red Cross.
Captain-in-Chief Lina Marín Rodríguez concluded: “A sister organization with which we have worked, continue to work and will continue to work on the mission of protecting life.”
