The Delaware State Fire Commission is conducting a national search to appoint the next Director of the Delaware State Fire School.
The Commission announced the recruitment process to identify a new chief executive and administrative officer for the facility.
Reporting directly to the Delaware State Fire Commission, the Director holds responsibility for the leadership and strategic direction of the school.
This role includes oversight of training operations, personnel management, facilities and fiscal administration.
The Director ensures all programs meet state requirements and recognized national standards.
The Delaware State Fire School serves as the primary provider of education for fire, rescue and emergency medical services (EMS) in the state.
Established as a component of the public safety system, the school provides standardized certification and professional development for first responders.
Programs delivered at the site include structural firefighting, hazardous materials response, technical rescue and fire prevention.
Instruction occurs through both classroom sessions and hands-on training at multiple facilities to support operational readiness.
Ronald Marvel, the Chairperson of the Delaware State Fire Commission, discussed the requirements for the leadership position.
Marvel said: “The Commission is seeking a highly experienced and qualified individual to lead the Delaware State Fire School.
“The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the fire service, strong public administration capabilities, and demonstrated executive-level management skills necessary to lead a statewide training organization.”
