Paul Darley shared insights from a recent McKinsey article in the latest issue of Inside Darley.
The video focuses on six key roles of successful CEOs: setting direction, aligning their organization, mobilizing leaders, embracing their board, over-communicating with stakeholders, and enhancing personal effectiveness.
Darley emphasized the importance of these roles: “They set direction, and they’re the best ones because they’re really bold.” He also highlighted the significance of organizational alignment, communication, and personal development.
Darley discussed the company’s commitment to learning and development, mentioning their sponsorship of The Leadership Podcast and the involvement of Jim Vasilopoulos.
Over 100 employees participated in Darley University sessions led by Vasilopoulos, focusing on crucial conversations.
Darley noted: “Jim Vasilopoulos also ran Darley University a couple of times this past year.
And in June, he ran a Darley University for all of our employees, over 100 actually participated.”
The annual defense sales conference saw participation from approximately 100 people, including over 50 veteran sales reps.
Darley highlighted the value of their experience: “They’ve lived a complete life of service and maybe haven’t really sold much in their life.”
Additionally, Darley will host the 15th annual National Defense Industry Association (NDIA) conference on July 24th at their headquarters in Itasca, Illinois.
The keynote speaker will be Kelly Callahan, the first chief of DLA’s Fire and Rescue program.
Darley mentioned their participation in the Fire Rescue International Conference in Dallas from August 14th to 16th, inviting attendees to visit their booth.
He also introduced their new e-commerce website, shop.darley.com, providing a tutorial and sign-up information for fire customers.
Paul Darley concluded: “Thanks for tuning into this issue of Inside Darley.
If there’s anything we can be doing to support you, we hope you’ll reach out to us.”
