UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement have appointed Christina Fisher as senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Fisher joins the organizations with more than two decades of executive leadership experience across complex, mission-driven organizations in the health care, nonprofit, and financial sectors. Her background includes leading large-scale financial, operational, and technology transformations in highly regulated environments.
In her new role, Fisher will help lead enterprise financial strategy and discipline, enhance planning and forecasting, strengthen operational performance, support risk management and governance, and guide strategic investments designed to expand organizational impact. She will also oversee real estate and facilities.
Jeff Marootian, president and chief executive officer of UL Standards & Engagement, said Fisher’s experience would support the organizations as they continue to broaden their global safety mission.

Fisher will also report to James J. Hudgens, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of UL Research Institutes.
Before joining ULRI and ULSE, Fisher served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, where she led finance, IT, facilities, and enterprise operations across a national network of independent health plans. In that role, she also advanced enterprise systems modernization and strengthened organizational performance.
Earlier in her career, Fisher was senior vice president and chief financial officer of the American Hospital Association, where she led enterprise-wide finance and operations and supported organizational and digital transformation.
She also held senior leadership roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, leading strategic planning, financial forecasting, and enterprise risk management initiatives.
Fisher is known for building high-performing, collaborative teams and advancing talent development and culture. She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
