The government of the state of Ceará has announced that the National Firefighters Congress (Conabom) will be held in Fortaleza from August 5 to 7, 2025.
The event, considered the largest fire service gathering in Latin America, will take place at the Ceará Events Center.
The 2025 edition coincides with the centenary of the Ceará Military Fire Department (CBMCE), an institution that has provided fire protection and emergency response services for 100 years.
The congress will bring together fire departments from across Brazil, along with public safety professionals and civil defense authorities.
The congress will feature lectures from specialists, scientific discussions, and an International Fire Prevention Fair.
It will also include a series of competitions and practical demonstrations.
Among the scheduled activities are the National Vehicle Rescue Challenge, the National Certification of Search and Rescue Dogs, the Brazilian Water Rescue Championship, and the Steel Firefighter competition.
These events will allow participants to test their skills and exchange knowledge on best practices in firefighting and rescue operations.
The National Firefighters Congress will be part of broader celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the CBMCE.
The commemorations will begin in 2024 and continue until August 8, 2025, the official anniversary date of the fire department.
According to Deputy Commander General of the CBMCE, Colonel Wagner Maia, the congress is not only a moment of recognition but also an opportunity to plan for the future: “The centennial is an opportunity to value our history and plan for the next 100 years, reinforcing our commitment to society and innovation in the area of security.”
Conabom 2025 will serve as a platform for discussing technological advancements, public safety policies, and operational improvements in fire services.
The event is expected to attract a wide range of professionals, including firefighters, emergency responders, and policymakers from across Brazil.
