On the afternoon of Wednesday 14 May 2025, the Military Fire Department of Minas Gerais (CBMMG) of Brazil, met with the State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainable Development (Semad) and the State Forestry Institute (IEF) with the aim of standardizing fire records in Conservation Units in the State.
The meeting was attended by the General Commander of CBMMG, Colonel Jordana de Oliveira Filgueiras Daldegan.
He was accompanied by the Specialized Firefighter Commander, Colonel Thiago Lacerda Duarte and the Environmental Coordinator, Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Santos Pereira Neto.
This was together with the Secretary of State for the Environment and Sustainable Development, Marília Carvalho de Melo, the General Director of IEF, Breno Esteves Lasmar, the Undersecretary of Environmental Inspection at SEMAD, Alexandre de Castro Leal and the Manager of Prevention and Fighting of Forest Fires, Rodrigo Bueno Belo.
The potential procedures for identifying and recording fires were discussed, as well as measuring burned areas. These integrated effort aims to standardize and standardize the recording of information on forest fires in the state’s 95 Conservation Units.
The synergy corroborates the vision of the agencies, aimed at continuous improvement in the provision of public services.
Finally, the integration between the bodies of the Fire Prevention Task Force (FTP) enhances environmental protection actions, in addition to promoting social well-being for the people of Minas Gerais.
