CBMMG receive 43 new vehicles to help efforts

On Tuesday 10 June, during a ceremony held at Praça Sete, in downtown Belo Horizonte, the Minas Gerais Military Fire Department (CBMMG) in Brazil received 43 new vehicles to serve the population.

The transfer of the new vehicles represents an important reinforcement to the operational structure, expanding the capacity to respond to the various demands of the Minas Gerais society.

In total, 43 vehicles were acquired, including 32 Light and Forestry Rescue Vehicles, 3 Operational Motorcycles, 5 Rescue Units, 2 Rescue Tank Pump Vehicles – ABTS and 1 Dangerous Products Vehicle – APP. The resources come from Conduct Adjustment Terms (TAC) and Parliamentary Amendments. 

The event was attended by Governor Romeu Zema and the general commander of CBMMG, Colonel Jordana de Oliveira Filgueiras Daldegan, among other civil and military authorities.

The governor handed over the keys and highlighted the importance of investments to save more and more miners.

Governor Zema stated: “There are 43 new vehicles for the Fire Department, totaling, since the beginning of our administration, more than 500 vehicles. This has better structured this corporation that aims to save lives.”

Colonel Jordana Filgueiras reinforced that the new acquisitions for the fleet will directly impact the service provided to the people of Minas Gerais.         

Colonel Jordana added: “We will reach 28 municipalities, but indirectly, more than 260 municipalities will be served. This represents an increase in the efficiency of the service provided by the corporation in the various incidents we respond to.

We are certain that the allocation of public resources for the acquisition of these vehicles will, in fact, make a difference in the provision of the service and, more than that, will save lives.”

With a total investment of R$15,979,362, in addition to the TACs indicated by the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais (MPMG), the following state deputies contributed to this acquisition: Andreia de Jesus, Arnaldo Silva, Betão, Bosco, Bruno Engler, Caporezzo, Charles Santos, Chiara Biondini, Delegate Christiano Xavier, Douglas Melo, João Júnior, João Vitor Xavier, Leleco Pimentel, Lohanna, Maria Clara Marra, Marli Ribeiro, Mauro Tramonte, Rodrigo Lopes, Tito Torres, Vitório Júnior, Zé Guilherme, as well as the Popular Participation Committee.

In a statement following the ceremony, the CBMMG said: “The renewal of the fleet strengthens operational services and represents an important implementation of the institution’s logistical structure, but, above all, the commitment to preserving life, the environment and heritage in our state.”
