CBMMG opens 280 temporary vacancies for firefighters

The Minas Gerais Military Fire Department (CBMMG) in Brazil, published on 15 April 2025, Notice No. 10/2025, which regulates the simplified selection process for the temporary hiring of 280 forest firefighters.

The professionals will work directly in actions to prevent, monitor and combat forest fires, within the scope of the Fire Prevention Task Force, during the critical period of fire in the state.

Registration is free and open from April 17 to 28, 2025. Interested parties must be between 18 and 59 years old, meet the requirements set out in the notice and have a minimum education level of incomplete elementary school.

The selection process

The selection process will consist of two stages: Physical Aptitude Test (TAF), of a qualifying and eliminatory nature and Curricular Analysis, of an eliminatory nature.

The approved and called candidates will work for a period of four months, with the possibility of an extension for another two months, according to the interest/need of the public administration.

The monthly salary expected for firefighters is R$1,518.00, plus a hazard pay of R$455.40. In addition, contractors will receive a meal allowance of R$50.00 and a transportation allowance of R$11.50, depending on the municipality where they work, both per day actually worked.

The positions are distributed across several Conservation Units in Minas Gerais, covering all regions of the state.

The brigade members’ work includes carrying out preventive actions, such as opening and maintaining firebreaks, providing guidance to local communities on the risks of using fire. As a priority, directly fighting forest fires, using personal protective equipment provided by the corporation.

The training course provided by CBMMG will be mandatory for candidates ranked up to 30th place by location, and is an essential requirement for the start of operational activities. Participants who obtain satisfactory results will receive an official certificate of completion.

The measure has been put in place to reinforce CBMMG’s commitment to preserving the environment, reducing damage caused by forest fires and strengthening joint actions with communities and managers of Conservation Units.
