The Military Fire Department of Minas Gerais (CBMMG) promoted, in partnership with the Museu dos Militares Mineiros (MMM), a series of educational workshops aimed at children in the light of National Firefighters’s Day, celebrated on 2 July in Brazil.
The activities took place on July 4th, 7th and 8th and were attended by children aged 5 to 7.
Through playful and interactive activities, they learned basic concepts of preventing domestic accidents, such as falls and burns and received guidance on how to act in risky situations.
In addition to the workshops, the children took a guided tour of the Minas Gerais Military Museum, where they were able to learn about the history of the CBMMG and understand more about the work of military firefighters in the state.
The action focused on promoting a culture of prevention from childhood and reinforced the Corporation’s commitment to preserving lives even outside of incidents, through education.
The project demonstrated how the integration between CBMMG and MMM expanded the reach of prevention actions and strengthened ties with the community.
