The Rio de Janeiro State Military Fire Department Kennel (CBMERJ), located in the 2nd Forestry and Environmental Rescue Group (2nd GSFMA), celebrated the arrival of its latest litter, consisting of six Labrador puppies.
The litter is the result of careful selection and management work focused on operational training, with the goal of renewing the Unit’s canine staff.
In a gesture of interstate cooperation, three puppies were donated to the Fire Departments of the states of Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina, and Alagoas, aiming to genetically strengthen Operational Kennels nationwide.
This initiative reinforces CBMERJ‘s commitment to national integration and the technical development of specialized units in Search, Rescue and Rescue with Canines.
The remaining three puppies will be used for various purposes. Two of them will undergo rigorous training to participate in search and rescue operations and eventually join the CBMERJ Specialized Troop.
The third will be used for canine therapy activities (a therapeutic method that uses interaction with dogs), expanding the social reach of the Fire Department’s actions.
