CBMERJ open new facilities after renovation process

The Military Fire Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro (CBMERJ) in Brazil inaugurated on Wednesday 8 October, the new facilities of the Historical and Cultural Center (CHC) and the Secretariat of Promotion Commissions (SCP).

The deliveries aim to represent another step in the modernization of the Corporation’s administrative and cultural structure.

Strengthening both the preservation of its memory and the improvement of the working conditions of military firefighters.

Features of the renovation

The CHC underwent an extensive process of revitalization and structural works, with emphasis on the modernization of the electrical and hydraulic systems.

The air conditioning of all environments, the complete renovation of the bathrooms and the pantry and the total repair of the mezzanine, which received new woodwork.

All doors were replaced and the granite floor brought more comfort and elegance to the space.

In addition to the physical improvements, the Historical and Cultural Center gained two new functional areas: a meeting room, aimed at institutional meetings and a research room, dedicated to the production of studies and historical surveys that will subsidize future publications on the trajectory of CBMERJ.

The Secretariat of Promotion Commissions, the body responsible for managing the processes of career advancement of military firefighters, was also completely reformed.

The works included new floors, painting, windows, pantry, bathrooms and changing rooms. The revitalization was carried out over more than a year, without ceasing to provide services to the troops.

General Commander, CBMERJ, Colonel Tarciso’s statement

During the ceremony, the Secretary of State for Civil Defense and General Commander of CBMERJ, Colonel Tarciso, highlighted the symbolism of the inaugurations:

Colonel Tarciso shared: “These deliveries represent respect and care for our history and our personnel.

“The Historical and Cultural Center preserves the memory of generations of firefighters who built this institution, while the Secretariat of Promotion Commissions ensures the recognition of the merit and dedication of our military.

“Investing in these spaces is to reaffirm the commitment to the appreciation of our troops and to the excellence of the service provided to the population of Rio de Janeiro.”
