The Rio de Janeiro State Military Fire Department has opened a new operational detachment in Pinheiral, expanding firefighting, rescue, pre-hospital care, and civil defense coverage in the Southern Fluminense Region.
The Military Fire Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro (CBMERJ) has inaugurated Military Fire Department Detachment 4/22 – Pinheiral, adding a new operational base to support emergency response in the municipality.
The new unit will serve Pinheiral, a municipality with more than 24,000 residents, and will carry out firefighting, search and rescue, pre-hospital care, and civil defense operations.
According to CBMERJ, the detachment is equipped with a motorhome-style vehicle designed to operate as a mobile command and operational base. The vehicle includes accommodation for six firefighters, a living area, pantry, kitchen, bathrooms, air conditioning, and internet connectivity.
The unit will also operate a Fire Engine for Rescue and Salvage (ABSR), enabling crews to respond to a range of incidents including fires, rescues, and medical emergencies.
With the launch of Detachment 4/22 – Pinheiral, CBMERJ’s operational network in the Southern Fluminense Region now includes fire stations in Volta Redonda, Resende, Barra Mansa, Barra do Piraí, Itatiaia, Paracambi, Miguel Pereira, Valença, Vassouras, Piraí, Mendes, Paty do Alferes, and Pinheiral.
