CBMERJ military personnel participate in a course on safety in electric vehicles

On the 17 March at 1 pm, the opening ceremony of the course ‘Fundamentals of Safety in Electrified Vehicles’ took place in the city of Resende in Rio de Janeiro.

The training is the result of a partnership between Nissan Brazil and Firjan/SENAI and aims to prepare military firefighters to act safely in incidents involving this type of technology.  

The first class of the course included the participation of military personnel from the Agulhas Negras Military Academy, in addition to the commander of the 23rd Military Firefighting Group (23rd GBM), Lieutenant Colonel Giselle Bomfim and another 20 military firefighters from the units that make up the Area III Firefighting Command – South, such as the 7th GBM, 22nd GBM, 29th GBM and their detachments.

Features of the electric vehicle training

During the training, the military personnel were taught about the operation and specific features of electric vehicles and risk management in emergency situations.

The training also covered specific safety protocols for incidents involving this type of vehicle, such as fires, collisions and rescues.  

The initiative aimed to strengthen the technical and operational capacity of the Corporation, ensuring that firefighters are prepared to deal with new technological demands.

The first graduates of the course will now act as multipliers in their units, disseminating the knowledge acquired and increasing safety in responding to this type of occurrence.
