The Military Fire Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro (CBMERJ) inaugurated on Monday 29 December, the new Military Fire Department Detachment 6/21, in the municipality of Miracema.
This decision aims to strengthen the Department’s capacity to respond to emergencies in the region.
The unit is the 119th in the state and is part of the 21st Military Fire Department Group (GBM), in Itaperuna.
With its installation, the Corporation reaches the mark of the 63rd municipality to have a CBMERJ unit, which continues firmly, advancing with the 100% Firefighter Project.
The action aims to guarantee the operational power of the Corporation in all 92 municipalities of Rio de Janeiro.
Currently, the presence of the Fire Department corresponds to approximately 68.5% of the municipalities.
The event was attended by the Secretary of State for Civil Defense and Commander-General of CBMERJ, Colonel BM Tarciso Salles; the Commander of CBA IV, Colonel BM Barcelos; the Commander of the 21st GBM, Lieutenant-Colonel BM Peleteiro; the Mayor of Miracema, Alessandra Freire, as well as other local authorities.
Representing a significant advancement for public safety, the new unit will expand the coverage of rescue and emergency services, thus reducing response times to incidents.
The detachment is the result of a partnership between the State Government, the CBMERJ and the Municipality of Miracema, reinforcing their joint commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
This initiative is part of a broad process of modernization, renewal and expansion of the fleet, materials and operational equipment promoted by the State Government, considered the largest investment in the history of CBMERJ.
The investment covers operational and administrative units responsible for direct service to the public and for supporting the Corporation’s internal needs.
With this delivery, CBMERJ expands its operational capacity in the interior of the state and reinforces its permanent commitment to protecting life, directly reflecting on the quality of services provided by the Corporation.
The new unit aims to represent not only more structure and technology, but also the daily presence of firefighters always ready to serve and save, ensuring greater safety, speed in service and peace of mind for the population of Miracema and the entire region.
