The Rio de Janeiro State Military Fire Department (CBMERJ), through the General Directorate of Social Assistance (DGAS), was present at the 5th edition of the Municipal Conference on Policies for Women in Cabo Frio, on Monday 21 July.
The initiative helps to create space for help, listening, proposing and strengthening actions aimed at promoting gender equality, in addition to the fight against violence against women.
The event was attended by the Commander of the 25th BPM, Colonel PM Andreia Ferreira; the Chief Delegate of the Women’s Assistance Police Station (DEAM) of Cabo Frio, Dr. Aline Vilas Boas; the Coordinator of the violence against women program of the DGAS Social Assistant of the CBMERJ, Captain BM Tatiana Borsoi; and the Coordinator of the Maria da Penha Patrol, Municipal Guard Regiane Costa.
During her participation, BM Captain Tatiana delivered a keynote address on the topic: “Women for Women: Women Leading the Fight Against Violence.”
She emphasized the importance of highlighting humane protocols for assisting victims of violence, reinforcing CBMERJ’s commitment to fostering a culture of acceptance and respect for human rights.
She also emphasized the importance of a protection network for women experiencing violence, emphasizing the need to strengthen the health, social assistance and civil defense sectors as essential pillars for providing support, preventing and breaking the cycle of violence against women.
Another highlight of the event was the importance of utilizing the Corporation’s internal staff, promoting reflection and training professionals who are citizens sensitive to the multiple forms of violence that affect women.
The DGAS reaffirms CBMERJ‘s commitment to developing integrated public policies based on respect for human dignity, aiming to foster an institutional culture always ready to combat any and all forms of violence.
