The Official Fire Department of Bogotá announced that the city will receive seven new Bogotá fire department enhances fleet with new firefighting vehicles.
This is part of efforts to enhance the department’s capabilities.
Contract 588 of 2022, an agreement made by the fire department, aims to modernize and expand the vehicle fleet.
This ensures better preparedness and response capabilities in emergencies.
The contract was reactivated on June 7, 2024, after the fire department authorized the transfer of a 50% stake held by 7M GROUP in the Extintor 4×4 Temporary Union to KPN Colombia SAS.
This transfer was necessary due to issues faced by 7M GROUP.
KPN Colombia SAS has committed to completing the contract.
Progress is already visible.
NAVISTAR DEFENSE, a key supplier, is manufacturing the chassis of the fire extinguishing machines.
Payments from the Extintor 4×4 Temporary Union have facilitated these efforts.
LAFE SECURITY, another member of the Extintor 4×4 Temporary Union, is working on the vehicle bodies.
This includes installing essential components such as water tanks, fire pumps, and blinds.
The new fire extinguishing machines will be delivered to the Bogotá Fire Department once the contract is fully executed.
This delivery is part of the ongoing renewal of the fire department’s vehicle fleet.
The vehicles are expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2025, significantly enhancing the department’s emergency response capabilities.
