“We’re thrilled Blackline has become the preferred safety tech provider”: Blackline Safety announces largest contract

Blackline Safety Corp. a connected safety technology specialist, announced its largest contract to date, an $8.5 million deal to protect 1,025 workers at a major North American midstream company.

As reported by Blackline Safety, this contract expands on the company’s original $3.5 million deal announced in September 2023, which covered more than 850 workers.

Combined, Blackline devices now protect nearly 2,000 field and site workers at the midstream company.

Details of the contract and technology

The midstream company purchased 1,025 G7 wearable gas-detection and lone worker devices, along with monitoring services.

Additionally, 753 G7 Bridges were purchased to keep workers connected in remote areas via satellite.

Before the first deal, the midstream company conducted a comprehensive review of available gas detection and lone worker devices.

The G7’s ability to provide immediate assistance in confined spaces and remote locations without cellular signal was a decisive factor.

Blackline Safety’s market acceptance

Sean Stinson, Blackline Safety President and Chief Growth Officer, stated: “We’re thrilled Blackline has become the preferred safety tech provider for this major midstream customer.

“Our devices are unique in the market — no other gas detection company provides real-time connectivity even in remote areas. Workers are never alone when they have Blackline at their side.”

The wearable G7 devices feature SOS latch, fall and no motion detection, and real-time connectivity, providing a critical lifeline in emergencies.

Pairing G7x devices with G7 Bridge ensures satellite connectivity in remote areas, maintaining real-time connection for even the most isolated workers.

Blackline’s historical context and future prospects

This announcement surpasses Blackline’s previous largest contract, a $7.8 million deal in the utility industry made in late 2021.

Such large contracts demonstrate Blackline’s growing acceptance in the market across various sectors as companies worldwide recognize the value of its life-saving technology.
