Pierce hosts annual event at Lambeau Field

Pierce Manufacturing will host the annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, as reported by Pierce Manufacturing.

The event honors the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks.

All proceeds will go to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which provides support to the survivors of fallen firefighters and works to reduce firefighter deaths within the community.

Event details and registration information

The stair climb will begin and end at the northwest end of Lambeau Field, covering one full lap of the stadium’s steps.

Participants are encouraged to pre-register, as climb start times are implemented in waves to ensure safety.

Each wave will consist of 343 climbers and will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Notifications regarding wave assignments will be sent via email.

Registration fees are $35 per participant through July 6, 2024, $40 through August 10, 2024, and $45 up to the day of the climb.

On-site registration and check-in will be available on Friday, September 6, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and on the morning of the event starting at 8:00 AM.

The climb will officially start at 9:30 AM with the first wave, following the opening ceremony at 9:00 AM.

Honoring fallen heroes

The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb serves as a tribute to the firefighters who perished during the World Trade Center attacks.

Climbers will ascend the equivalent of 110 stories, symbolizing the height of the towers.

Each participant will receive a badge with the name and photograph of a fallen firefighter, ringing a fire bell at the equivalent of the 78th floor, the highest level reached by firefighters on 9/11.

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, established by Congress in 1992, honors America’s fallen firefighters and provides resources for their families.

The foundation’s mission includes supporting survivors and promoting safety within the firefighting community to prevent future losses.

Community involvement and support

Members of the community are encouraged to participate in the climb or support the event through donations and attendance.

Entertainment will be provided near the Kwik Trip Gate for participants and supporters.

The stair climb is not a timed race, allowing participants to climb at their own pace, and minors must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
