As reported by Oshkosh Airport Products, ADM Aéroports de Montréal has recently upgraded its emergency service capabilities by integrating five new Oshkosh Striker 6×6 ARFF vehicles into its fleet.
The vehicles are designated to enhance operations at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport and YMX International Aerocity of Mirabel, which collectively cater to over 21 million passengers annually.
The Striker 6×6 ARFF vehicles, provided by Oshkosh Airport Products, a division of Pierce Manufacturing Inc. and subsidiary of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK), are part of a significant update.
This acquisition marks a substantial phase in the ongoing partnership between ADM and Oshkosh, aimed at bolstering emergency preparedness and response at two of Québec’s primary airports.
Jack Bermingham, business unit director for Oshkosh Airport Products, expressed his views on the project: “This project represents one of the largest single non-military ARFF sales in Canadian aviation history.
“ADM’s retirement of a fleet of existing Strikers for this replacement order clearly demonstrates the ongoing trust they have in Oshkosh.
“Alongside the Commercial Emergency Equipment and L’Arsenal teams, we are proud to continue this long-standing relationship by once again providing leading edge ARFF vehicles, and dedicated service and support from our dealers and support network.”
The Striker vehicles are equipped with advanced firefighting features, including a high-reach extendable turret on three of the vehicles and standard roof turrets on the others.
All vehicles boast low-attack bumper turrets, industry-leading modular cab designs, all-wheel independent suspension, and high-performance engines.
Stéphane Larin, Director of Security, Operations and Fire Department at ADM Aéroports de Montréal, highlighted the operational benefits of the new fleet: “The acquisition of these new vehicles is part of a drive to modernize ADM Aéroports de Montréal’s equipment and will enable us to respond more quickly and efficiently to incidents requiring firefighting services.
“We would like to thank our long-time partner Oshkosh for its support and the quality of these high-performance Strikers.”
