ABM of CBMMG launch work on "Disaster Management"

The Military Firefighters Academy (ABM) of the Minas Gerais Military Fire Department (CBMMG) hosted the launch of a technical work entitled “Analysis of Portuguese and Brazilian Disaster Management Systems compared to the United Nations and Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) standards” on July 4 2025.

The work consolidates itself as a technical milestone that intends to reinforce the Minas Gerais Military Fire Department (CBMMG) as a national reference in Disaster Management, aligning itself with the international guidelines of the UN and Fema.

Lieutenant Colonel Kleber Silveira de Castro’s book

The launch of the book by Lieutenant Colonel Kleber Silveira de Castro, an Officer at CBMMG, is the result of his Master’s Dissertation in Relief and Emergency Management, completed between 2022 and 2023 at the Higher Institute of Information and Administration Sciences (ISCIA), in Aveiro, Portugal.

The event took place at the Lieutenant Hélio Galvão Library, bringing together authorities, officers, enlisted men and guests.

Delivery of copies to the Military Firefighters Academy

The focus of the event was the delivery of copies to the Military Firefighters Academy itself, a training institution that shaped the author’s professional career.

The donation represents the commitment to strengthening the technical and scientific base of the corporation, especially in the field of Risk and Disaster Management.

The author highlighted the support of the CBMMG, who he called a support and inspiration for his professional career.

The event reported the sponsorship of Resgatécnica and Fundação Salvar, which made it possible to print copies intended for donation to CBMMG units, expanding access to specialized knowledge within the corporation. In addition, ISCIA provided institutional support for the project.

With this support and the author’s personal investment through sales of printed copies, production of an accessible expanded digital version of the work is underway.

In his speech, Lieutenant Colonel Kleber paid tribute to his family, recognizing the essential role of his loved ones in each stage of his personal and professional journey, especially during the 11 months he lived in Portugal to study and produce various technical texts that were published at international events.
