Chiefs Kevin E. Cooney, Jordan J. Cramer, Timothy E. Sendelbach, and Al Yancey, Jr. have been appointed to the board.
Three of the new board members will serve a three-year term, while Chief Cooney will complete a two-year term previously held by Chief Flynn.
The new board members were introduced at the IAFC’s Fire-Rescue International Conference, which took place on August 15, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.
While Chiefs Cramer, Sendelbach, and Yancey were sworn in during the event, Chief Sendelbach will be officially sworn in later this month at a VCOS board meeting.
The newly appointed VCOS board members will participate in monthly board meetings and represent VCOS on various committees.
Their responsibilities will include contributing to projects and initiatives aimed at advancing the volunteer and combination fire and emergency services.
The board members will also work on developing new resources and tools to support the VCOS mission.
The role of these board members is critical in ensuring the continued success and evolution of the volunteer and combination fire service.
They are expected to play an active role in shaping policies and strategies that align with the goals of VCOS.
The VCOS has extended its gratitude to the outgoing board members, Chief Brita Horn and Assistant Chief Paul Sterling, for their service.
Both chiefs have been recognized for their contributions and dedication during their tenure on the board.
The VCOS has wished them the best in their future endeavors.
Their departure marks the end of a significant chapter, and the VCOS expressed its appreciation for their hard work and commitment to the organization.
The new board members will build upon the foundation laid by their predecessors.
